Overview
When you submit a supplier file for Data Enrichment, our system matches your supplier records against our database to identify if your supplier exists in our database. Understanding how this process works helps explain your enrichment results.
How Matching Works
Our matching algorithm uses multiple data points to find the best match:
- Company name
- Street address
- City and state/province
- Country
The more complete your data, the higher the match confidence.
A partial or no match indicates limited confidence that your supplier record corresponds to the supplier in our database. This can happen when:
- Company names are similar but not identical
- Address information is missing, incomplete or outdated
- Multiple companies share similar names (e.g., franchises, subsidiaries)
- The supplier has relocated or changed their legal name
Tips for Better Match Rates
- Use the supplier's full legal name
- Include complete physical street address, not just city/state
- Verify spelling and formatting before submitting
